Creative Mentorship Turbocharges Your Results

You may have taken online and in-person art classes from a number of artists over the years. These teachers can have a real impact on our artistic development! But I believe that artists who are serious about achieving their goals should hire a creative mentor to get better results.

Creative Mentorship is Personalized

Be wary of any creative mentorship program that has no cap on the number of participants. You really need one-on-one mentorship that is personalized to you. Your mentor should have a chance to get to know you and your art and to make recommendations based on the unique challenges you are facing. This can only be achieved in programs with 15 or fewer participants.

In creative mentorship, your mentor serves as a guide, coach, and cheerleader. Your mentor will meet you where you are at, meaning you can be at any point in your artistic or artrepreneur journey. I firmly believe that it’s never too early to get personalized coaching, and it can be a huge timesaver! It can prevent you from spending time and money on things that don’t “move the needle” in your creative practice or art career.

Creative Mentorship Provides Accountability

You probably have lists of goals regarding your art career, as well as list after list of things to do and try. It’s easy to get paralyzed by this. But when you work with an experienced creative mentor, you will either be given direct assignments or you will be guided to create your own—and then you’ll be required to show up and share your results! And because creative mentorship is intimate, direct communication, you can’t hide out in the back of the classroom or just be a lurker. This accountability pushes you to DO what you set out to do and then get compassionate and helpful feedback, no matter how the assignment goes. This is how true progress happens!

Gentle Guidance Over Time Pays Off!

Spending time getting creative mentoring over time will transform your art practice and your art business. It’s a great way to build confidence and to push yourself to level up. We all face a lot of fear and anxiety when it comes to creating our art and putting it out there into the world. A creative mentor provides more than supporting hand-holding. Your mentor brings experience and objectivity, helping you better understand what you’re doing and how it may be perceived by the world. This is critical to fine-tuning your work and the way that you present it to your intended audience.

I Love Being a Creative Mentor

I truly enjoy the creative mentoring I provide to my beloved artist clients. It’s so fulfilling for us all! I’m thrilled to share that I’m about to open a six-week mentorship program called the Abstract Artists’ Series Accelerator. This small-group program is for artists who long to create a dynamic body of work that collectors and interior designers want!

We’ll cover the “why” of your work, the “how” (design and composition), confidence, how to create a series, and business and marketing. Not to mention some great bonus lessons, such as finishing and framing advice and how to create a Look Book for pitching your artwork!

Abstract Artists’ Series Accelerator begins on March 7, 2023, so grab your spot today. If you happen upon this blog post after that date, you can join my email list so you’ll be the first to hear about my upcoming programs.
